One Final Note on the 40-day Fast
As I went through the difficult time of transitioning back from the fast into digesting food again - I was a little disappointed because I wasn't feeling better than I was - I spoke too soon. Now that I have made the transition, I am amazed at how much energy I have and how much less sleep I need.
I have lost my cravings for junk - I crave live food. I want to move and exercise - in fact, it's been snowing here for the last few days (we live at 6,000+ feet) and I'm restless - I want to get out and move. I wake up long before everyone else and am ready to get to work. Annnnnnnnnd, I crave the sun - suddenly I remember that I AM a California girl and I LOVE the sun - I have been seriously considering moving to the Phoenix valley where I can stay active all year, have plenty of sun and fresh produce all year.
Dr. Hay said if you can fast for 40 days, you can turn the clock back 10 years - now I'm beginning to see what he was talking about. I have always had enough energy for 10 people, but the last few years I was beginning to slow down - now I am starting to feel like myself again. I want to play, swim, ride bikes, walk and run and be free - not to bad for an old lady, right?!?
