Re: 99.999% of native born US citizens have original birth certificates
It only makes the difference between whether Obama is eligible to be President or not. Here, let me cut and paste the answers for you:
According to the immigration law in effect at the time of Barack's birth, eligibility for the office of President requires natural-born citizen status when the candidate was not born to two parents with U.S. citizenship.
(Note that Mr. Obama’s father was not a U.S. Citizen at the time of Barack’s birth.)
The federal law stated that: “…if only one parent is a U.S. Citizen at the time of one’s birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for minimum ten years, five of which must be after the age of 16.”
Obama’s mother was 18 years-old when Barack was born. This means that it may be impossible for her to meet this requirement. "Five" years "after the age of 16" would mean that she would have to be 21 at the time of Barack's birth in order to automatically qualify her son for U.S. citizenship.
It isn't Obama's US Citizenship that is being questioned, it is his
natural-born U.S. citizenship status” that is the real issue.
Obama’s long-form Hawaii Birth Certificate may be able to prove his natural-born citizenship status. Obama, who is a Constitutional scholar, refuses to release this document even though he faces multiple lawsuits around the country demanding that he does so.
On his website, fightthesmears.com, Obama has posted an image of a Hawaiian Certificate of Live Birth. This is not the same thing as a Birth Certificate.
Is a Certificate of Live Birth proof of natural-born citizenship? Absolutely NOT!
According to Hawaiian law, Certificates of Live Birth may be “prepared and filed with the Department of Health, as provided by law, for 1) a person born in Hawaii who already has a birth certificate filed with the Department of Health or 2) a person born in a foreign country.”
In addition, while some sources have confirmed the validity of this document, others question whether or not this document has been altered. Regardless, the Certificate of Live Birth does not prove that Obama was born in Hawaii. Children born outside of the country can be issued Certificates of Live Birth. In fact, Obama’s half sister was born in Indonesia and also has a Hawaiian Certificate of Live Birth.
Barack Obama will not release his transcripts from his stay at Columbia, Occidental, or Harvard universities. He is not required to do so, but investigators are speculating that he received financial aid as a foreign student while attending school. Mr. Obama can easily put these theories to rest by releasing these records.
On October 27th, 2008, Hawaii Democrat Governor Linda Lingle effectively barred anyone but Obama himself from obtaining a copy of his long-form Birth Certificate. Lingle cited privacy laws meant to deter identity theft as her reason for taking this action. Obama has not requested that his Birth Certificate be unsealed or released.
Unknown. It is a fact that Barack’s mother was in Kenya while late in her pregnancy. Whether or not she was able to fly back to Hawaii to give birth to Barack is not known for certain. According to some sources, Obama's paternal grandmother has said she was present in the delivery room at Barack’s birth -- at The Coast Provincial General Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya. If Obama has a long-form Hawaiian Birth Certificate, he could easily prove this claim to be true or false. For whatever reason, he refuses to do so.
Even if Obama was born in Hawaii, it is possible that his stepfather later changed his citizenship to Indonesian. Barack was enrolled in the Indonesian public school system under the name “Barry Soetoro” (having taken his stepfather's last name). During this period of young Barack's life, only Indonesian citizens were allowed to enroll in public school.
If Barack’s (or Barry’s) citizenship was switched to Indonesian via adoption by his stepfather, he would then have to reapply for naturalized citizen status upon reentry to the United States. If this is the case, Obama is not eligible to be President of the United States of America. And if Barack Obama was an Indonesian citizen and did not reapply for naturalized status upon his return, Obama would currently be an illegal alien and inelgible to hold any seat in the federal government.
Eligible candidates must be natural-born U.S. citizens. And as evidence suggests, Barack Obama may not be a legal natural-born U.S. citizen.
Lots of questions, no real answers - but Obama could easily put every one of them to rest with full disclosure. Why hasn't he?
