Here's what I can share:
Early on in my research I become devoted to the concept of not reading or believing anything or anybody UNLESS they had responsibly & successfully cured a LOT of people VERY consistently. Everybody's got a book to sell and a theory to promote...and many (many!) times it's based on what makes 'scientific sense' in a laboratory...not how the human body ACTUALLY responds (see further down regarding this, and the book Biological Transmutations by Nobel nominee Kervran).
So let's look at the Gerson protocol (which we know has cured tens of thousands from incurable diseases)...that mixes vegetable & fruit juices (and allows the same on the diet regime).

The basic concept of "food combining"....

...assumes that the human body is not capable of handling the 'complex' process of digestion without our assistance. *As any students of natural healing & physiology will assure you*, these statements of 'fact' are not facts at all (even though they may be true in a laboratory environment, they are NOT true within a properly working human body). They assume, that because in a lab, certain foods break down into what they assume are 'assimilable parts' only with exposure to various acid/alkaline/enzyme application (heavens only know if these substances are natural), that this the same is true in the human body. And this is those that have actually even bothered to run any laboratory experiments. Most of these things are published based on someone's "logical thinking". And while it may APPEAR to be logical, it is missing LARGE pieces of information and biological/physiological truths...and based on the erroneous idea that our body simply cannot possibly know how to digest & assimilate various foods if "incorrectly combined"...a "premise" if you will, that they don't they (and the reader) assumes to be a fact.
There are hundreds of billions of people that live/have lived on this planet for long healthy lives, that never even HEARD of 'food combining' - so that alone pretty much blows the whole concept to smithereens.
And they leave out FACTS! Each bite of food, when properly chewed into a liquid form before swallowing, has already been thoroughly mixed & saturated with 8+ digestive enzymes in the saliva (plus other possible 'digestive fluids' & responses that 'science' may have yet to isolate, identify & verify). When that mixture that's alive with digestive enzymes & fluids hits the stomach (along with live natural enzymes in the food), the stomach, liver & pancreas are triggered to add the perfect blend of acid/alkaline/bile/enzymes for the conglomeration that has been ingested & predigested.
Of course:
-- if the food isn't properly chewed & predigested...
-- if the liver is clogged/sluggish (and "off it's digestive game") because it's busy/prioritizing it's more imperative job of neutralizing the vast amounts of poisons we ingest daily -along with those it gets every time we eat or drink ANYTHING which soaks through an incredibly acidic, toxin-laden layer of mucoid plaque,to keep our blood at a consistent 7.35 pH...
-- if the pancreas compromised...
-- if the stomach's acid production is adversely impacted by the constant pressure of upwardly pushing gasses from the lower impaction of putrefying, rubbery filth (that's laden with
parasites & out-of-balance levels of bacteria/yeast because of it), which seriously/negatively impacts the process of digestion & assimilation...
-- if the stomach isn't producing enough stomach acid...
-- and if the incoming food is mixed with (and diluted by) vast amounts of beverages that are laden with enzyme killers & neutralizers (such as fluoridated water), dead grain/soy with their enzyme INHIBITORS, trans-fat, and other digestive destroying unnatural foods...
...THEN 'food combining' MIGHT be necessary - but at it's best, it's still just a guessing game. AND it's simply yet ANOTHER "symptom bandaid" (that may or may not have adverse effects).
(By the way, speaking of trans-fats - wanna know how horribly they effect the liver & digestion? Get yerself a stethescope and listen to your liver 'normally', then after eating olive oil...the sounds of the bile flowing throughout the liver are beautiful. Then listen to your liver after eating transfats. The liver silence is LOUD).
Bottom line - we restore the body to it's natural healthy condition, chew our foods properly and eliminate toxin/poisons from our diet - the body knows how to handle the rest (and does it QUITE beautifully & successfully).
And lastly - the book Biological Transmutations by Louis Kervran (nominated for the 1975 Nobel in Physiology - Member of the New York Academy of Science; Director of Conferences of the Paris University; Member of the Conseil d'Hygeine de la Seine).
This book illuminates:
--how a chicken can lay eggs without ingesting ANY calcium (!)
--how workers in high-heat environments (ingesting vast quantities of salt tablets), sweat out ...? POTASSIUM!!...while having NO sodium overload or shortage of potassium.
--and many other 'biological transmutations' that happen within the body that "science" does NOT recognize.
