I have 5 decades of the improper eating under my belt (literally), so you are ahead of me, if that makes you feel any better.
Please tell me you are moving to Utah - I would ignore my kids to hang out with you (just kidding - referring to the difficulty of finding people with common interests - I have two sisters who never had kids (and many friends), so I am aware of how difficult it can be).
I've had a few weeks of not strictly sticking to the ETL 6 wk. plan - no meat, but some dairy,
Sugar and alcohol. Amazing how when I have a little, my body (or brain - or lack thereof) screams for more, more, more.
I now have exactly 6 weeks until my Dr. checkup and blood test, so I am recommiting to following the diet and adding more exercise.
That specifically means no morning coffee (I've been having it with a mix of soy/rice/almond milk - and I have two mugs each morning), no cheese (this has usually crept in as something vegetarian on a menu that I just order out of laziness - instead of asking to have a salad "made to order"), no
Sugar or alcohol (this one should be a no-brainer, but these past few weeks I guess I've been "celebrating" and PMSing at the same time) and no "tasting" as I cook things for my family or clean up after dinner. All of these things have added up to no weight loss for me the past two weeks.
Snowing here today, so a great day to get some major housework done.
