Beginning a fast-Hoping to lose 40 Ibs
OK, I have tried everything from Slimfast to Atkins, and I just can't seem to stay motivated long enough to lose this excess weight. I'm the kind of person that does best with something that I can see happening RIGHT NOW. I've been reading the posts on this forum for quite some time now, and I would like to give it a shot. I am going to do a mixture of water fasting, juice fasting, MC, and broths. I am hoping to lose at least 12 Ibs the first week, because I know the bigger the weight loss, the more motivated I will be to continue. I am going to try to do this fasting diet for the next three weeks and then start a mostly fruits and vegetables eating plan to try to keep my weight on track. I intend to exercise throughout the fasting period too. I need to lose about 40 Ibs and KEEP IT OFF. I gained 35 Ibs with my last pregnancy and since then I have been on an emotional roller coaster that has caused me to not only keep this pregnancy weight, but I've also gained an additional 6 Ibs. I am desperate to gain control of my eating habits and lose this weight for once and for all!
I think that abstaining from all forms of solid foods will be good for me during this 3 week period, and I'm hoping it will enable me to make the right choices about food when I do start eating again.
Any advice or encouragement from all of you veteran fasters would be greatly appreciated.
One question before I close: How much weight is normally lost the first week on a fast like this?
Thanks.
