Re: Upper-arm thinning exercises? DO they exist?
You may want to look up Mariah Carey's regimen.
She did an Oprah progam on it and specifically mentioned your same concern.
She said she did not want muscle-y arms, just toned and sinewy because 'I am a girl' (she said).
They had the actual excercise routine and the trainer as well.
Unfortunately I do not remember the specifics.
I know that making circles w/your hands with arms extended is one proven old-favorite for that though, while also changing the direction of the circle front to back, then viceversa, and changing the hands from flex down to flex up or straight extension.
Another may be to hold a half gallon jug w/water with both hands over your head, then lower slowly head to middle-back and lift again without moving the upper arms, just moving your lower arms. Sort of forming a fulcrum with upper arms support, lower arms lever.
Gardening is EXCELLENT excercise, so pulling weeds: good for your arms (and back) and for your garden!
Anyway, post findings as these will be useful for us all!
