Re: Body odor puzzling me. Seeking advise please.
Lenny,
I have a similar situation, although I don't have any triggers such as alcohol. I hope that more experienced threaders will be able to answer both of our questions. My dilemma goes as follows:
First of all, to be honest with everybody, I don't know whether I have bad breath/smelly nose/
Body Odor or not. I have not seen a doctor about the issue.
However, over the past few months, I have been noticing that sometimes people either avoid me or sit close to me then get up and choose alternate seats in the subway.
This has happened several times, although not all the time. However, it happened enough times for me to wonder whether or not something was wrong with me. I do not have a history of low self esteem or any psychological conditions. Either way, I could not help but wonder whether I had some sort of odor. With this in mind, I began researching about body/breath odors and realized that I may have one or the other; the reason being that I was on
Antibiotics for
Acne for about a year. I understand that this may cause bacterial imbalances and result in body/breath odors.
I also realized that I have a white coating on my tongue which led me to believe that I may have halitosis due to Candida overgrowth.
Surprisingly, a close friend of my mine told me that he was not able to detect any unusual odors from me. I am pretty sure that prior to 2008, I did not have any odors since I did not experience any strange behavior from other subway riders, friends and intimate partners.
My question to those that suffer from these conditions is, "how do I tell whether or not I have an odor?" I can't smell anything and I have begun using a tongue scraper, brushing 3 times a day, and using Smartmouth products. I am now also suspicious about odor from my nose. However, I can't smell not even an ounce of odor. The thing is, I hear that most people cannot smell their own odor either. How do I solve this problem?
PLEASE HELP!!!
