I Don't Give A Flip About What Buddha Said!

The point that I made in my post is that Buddhists were NOT always that peaceful, life-supporting people that they have been portrayed as being. Buddhism has ALSO become a religion... and a patriarchal one at that.

And while the Dalai Lama is hanging out with political leaders, dignitaries and celebrities... his monks have been dodging bullets in the streets...

And I imagine that a lot of Buddhists would try to explain all this away as karma. How convenient! Well... what sort of karma do you suppose this brings?

Buddha himself came from a very wealthy and sheltered environment and CHOSE to leave it... along with his wife and child... and search for his OWN enlightenment! The current Dalai Lama became "His Holiness" at the age of 2... and was also sheltered and lavished... not unlike the early life experience of Buddha. CHOOSING to live the life of an ascetic is one thing... but growing up as a hungry kid... living in poverty... and not having many opportunities to rise above it... is a WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY!

I can only wonder what she would have to say about it?





Given what she and her compadres have said... I would say "PLENTY"!
