Re: Your opinion on "Bio-identical" hormones

Thank you, that is along the lines of what I suspected. I have been asking questions in the iodine supplementation forum as well, and they are suggesting iodine first to make sure the thyroid is nourished first. One woman mentioned she has been on bio identicals with no effect until she added iodine to her regime. Dr. Brownstein is in my neighborhood, and I was his patient over ten years ago, so I may see him again, since he is one of the doctors studying iodine supplementation and writing about it. I'd been putting it off because his clinic fees are very expensive.

I'm looking for balance and relief from PMS , fibrocystic breasts, endometriosis and probably fibroids, heavy periods, headaches, and basically at least 2 weeks out of every month feeling pretty bad. I know there is no stopping the clock, but I went from people mistaking me for much younger a couple of years ago to looking about the same age as my husband who is nine years older in the span of a couple years, so in that sense I do feel like a hormonal switch got flipped around age 40 or shortly before, and I'm looking and feeling old way too soon.
