Re: 1st liver flush experience

Hi again,

I used the liver cleanse at //www.curezone.org/cleanse/liver/grandma.asp
which is very simple compared to most of the other approaches on the site. Whether it's better or worse I don't know.

I didn't have any constipation problems, so I'm assuming I didn't need the magnesium salts mentioned in some.

I posted here because I was so amazed that after thorough medical checks by highly credentialed/qualified MD's they had no commercial medical treatment other than treating the symptoms with drugs. They did find the fatty liver however which was the key that led me to the olive oil/lemon method after reading the info on this site. I have to say this site and the internet are both wonderful for the amount of info you can get. I'm very suprised the medical community has no official treatment - but the drug companies couldn't make much money from selling lemons and olive oil so there will probably never be controlled medical trials to check the validity the cleanse.

I can say that I've got enough background in Science to know that the things that were flushed had little probability of being saponified olive oil. Knowing what bile looks and smells like - it is very distinctive and unmistakable - the flush contained a large amount of bile and some bile congealed in waxy chunks which I'm assuming were cholesterol from the bile ducts and gallbladder. They were not "hard" or calcified but could have been exactly as described on the site as a cause of a "fatty liver" diagnosis.

Looking back I can follow the development of my symptoms which started to become extremely noticable about 3 years ago when I began to get slight pain and bloating around the gall bladder area. I'd been eating in restaurants a lot for quite a few years before that which may have been the genesis of the problem. It never occured to me it might involve the liver/gallbladder and when it occured I went to another well known specialist who thought it might be tiny stomach ulcers that didn't show up on sophisticated upper GI.

The sypmtoms would get worse when I would eat things that had a lot of saturated fats - especially processed fats like hot dogs at a ball game. Once again it never occured to me that it was the liver gallbladder system, probably because I hadn't heard of men having that problem and I'd have expected an MD to pick it up. A lot of men do, however, develop reflux, bloating and fatty livers. I read somewhere that a fairly large percentage of men over 30 have fatty livers and a lot are asymptomatic.

A times I even had the pain / pressure and developed a little inflammation on the skin above the area of the gall bladder that was like a little blister deep under the skin.

I know this is explanation is a little long. I just wanted to explain as clearly as possible what happened and how the olive oil/lemon worked. My symptoms were never as acute as some people on this site that had blockages or large gallstones. I'm assuming my problem simply manifested as reflux, pressure, slight pain and diarrhea and caused by liver bile duct "blockages" which manifested to the medical examination as "fatty liver".

The reflux and diarrhea are now still gone. I'm waiting a while to do another cleanse.

Another item someone may note is that I tried a very small amount of the olive oil/lemon mix a few days before I did the actual full cup of each to check any reaction. I did get what I consider to be a good reaction - some churning and activity around the gall bladder area. This led me to try the full cleanse.

Good luck to the rest of the people on the board. Hope my post helped someone.
