Re: Designing a low carb flush

Hi,

Perhaps you could substitute lemon juice for the grapefruit juice, if that brings the carb count down. (I haven't checked the carbs in either, but some flushes use lemon instead of grapefruit, and I'm guessing that lemon juice might have less Sugar content.)

Then again, since you're supposed to eat no fat on the day of the flush, and you're doing Atkins, you're basically stuck. What source of protein isn't also a source of either carbs (grains/beans) or fat (meat/dairy)? Extremely lean meats, perhaps, although I wouldn't bet on it being fat free. And then there are some low-carb, no-fat veggies, like... celery!

Of course, the calories from Celery are used up by merely chewing it well, so you're probably safe eating Celery all day, in which case the grapefruits for the flush aren't a problem, either. *grin*

Good luck!
