Small Fiber Neuropathy Supplements

We're new to this message board and are just looking for ANY help that we can get.

My boyfriend was diagnosed about 7 months ago with Small Fiber Neuropathy. He has no immune diseases that could have caused it so we are thinking it was toxins. However, the neurologist that we've been seeing who diagnosed him hasn't been much help as to what could have caused it or what he can take to help rebuild his nerves. We are looking for a natural alternative to meds. He is already taking suppliments.

Does anyone know of ANY suppliments that can help rebuild small fibers (nerves)? We've heard that Alpha-Lipoic helps but are looking for more options. We're open to any suggestions that anyone has. Even suggestions on things that help with the pain, tingling, numbness, etc.

I have done extensive research on this on the internet and there really isn't that much info about small fiber neuropathy out there. It's not something that seems to be a huge topic with doctors. Most don't even know what it is. We went through roughly 12 docs before we found one that knew what he had. Amazing! But even then it doesn't seem like the doctor even knows that much about it.
