Ok, that makes some sense. Smell doesn't have anything to do with herpes, BTW.

Given what you've told me, it's fairly unlikely that your semen would transmit herpes. herpes is not a systemic infection and doesn't involve bodily fluids unless they happen to wash over an area that is shedding the virus from the skin and pick up some of it.

I'd still recommend testing for her on general principles so she knows her status. Unless she's never had sex with anyone, it's possible that she already has the virus given how wide-spread it is.

You've still not told me about your diagnosis.
