Just got back from the specialist
Good news and bad. The good news is, my specialist agrees with everything I presented, and supports me and what I am doing. He even gave me a prescription for experimental purposes [in vitro].
He and I had a good chat about what is going on in the medical arena with regard to parasitic issues. He is very pissed off at the current system because they are reducing funding for medical clinics in this area. He agrees there is a spike in these infections, but the top administrators have no interest in looking at this. They are far more focused on viral diseases.
In other words, there is a political lack of will to pursue areas of infectious and tropical disease.
So blaming the doctors is not the answer, because they are specifically discouraged from the top, to look for
parasites and like diseases.
I asked if he could get my sample to a microbiologist in the hospital, and he told me nobody in the entire area would touch it.
The "area" I am talking about, has one of the highest densities of research facilities in the world!
There is actual discouragement towards identifying these diseases!
So the fact that I plan on opening my own lab, is starting to look good. There should be plenty of brains out there to help me out.
A note on the drug nitazoxinide. He agrees this is one of the best drugs to treat protozoan, and helminthic infections, but Canada does not supply it because of the cost. He will get it to me if I personally put up the money, which is about 300 CAD a week. It is supplied by a pharmaceutical company in Florida. Shroom
