The other side of that coin
Nothing should excuse that kind of abuse and property destruction.
On the other hand, a great many Asians and Middle-Easterners come here, house entire families in a single house or dwelling, go to work in convenience stores and budget motels and the like, pool all their resources in order to ultimately better their families, educate their children and provide attain a better quality of life.
The communities tend to be tight knit and supportive. Their kids go to school to really learn instead of get high, party and create disruption, they help their families in the home and in the businesses. In the end. many such families end up buying the convenience store, motel or other businesses they where they once worked.
Regardless of one's feelings about immigration, I think that you have to admire the work ethic, family support and sense of community evokes our own forefathers and previous generations right up through WWII - and bemoan the loss of such qualities in far too much of the population at large since then.
