Re: The Future is Now.
After 9-11 my friend, where I live,
sold her NY apartment. She tries to
tell me that my room and bath here
would be a luxury apartment in NY
and would cost me a fortune. It is
hard to imagine paying exorbitant
rents for such small amounts of space.
Actually, though, I had another
friend in Charlotte, North Carolina,
who had just bought an apartment
complex and she had to evict some
folks and she showed me the apartment
after they left. Three rooms were
wall to wall bunks, 2 and 3 high,
edge to edge. The bathroom and the
kitchen were not salvageable, they
were going to be gutted they were
so disgustingly vile and filthy.
The illegals must have been stacked
in there like cord wood. Likewise,
I've read of stories from California
where the illegals there buy one
home and stuff it full. Perhaps your
fantasy of rent rates falling would
not come to fruition, but merely
that those small apartments might
become stacked to the ceiling with
humans.

Zoe
