Re: Day 1 and I can't stop thinking about food.

Trystan:

First of all congratulations on starting your fast and day 1. When you think of food, think that right now you are fasting because you want to clean your body, food will actually be in the way of that goal. Secondly, if you loose money on the dorm food, think how much you will save from doctor's bills and drugs they may give you. Also once you complete your fast, you will be more alert and that could be the best thing that can happen to you, better focus on your studies, better interaction with friends and much more. Things will come easier to you after fast. My own experience, 22 day fast and I am a new person. I do still get reflux, but not like before. At work people ask me why do I have much better focus and memory. Also small things that bothered me, do not even come to my mind anymore.

SO WILL THE FOOD FROM THE DORM AN MONEY GO TO WASTE? ANSWER IS NO. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU CAN FEED SOME NEEDY WITH THAT FOOD.

I have two kids in college, they loose so much money as they are totally vegetarian and do not eat many meals.

I hope you can divert your mind in creating something while on your fast. Drink water and do something that pleases you, like drawing a picture, making a small craft thing etc.

Lots of luck.
