Re: Are Some People Just Immune to Herbal Remedies?

People are not immune to herbal therapies, they just need to realize that conditions have different causes. For example high blood pressure can occur from high serum calcium, low magnesium, angiotensin, sodium retention, many medications like NSAIDs, diabetes, arteriosclerosis, epinephrine, etc. What will work best for each condition will depend on the cause. Magnesium malate or citrate will work as a natural calcium channel blocker. Ashwagandha works as a natural ACE inhibitor and beta blocker. Coleus forskohlii is a good safe substitute for cardiac glycosides. Potassium helps to counter sodium retention. Lecithin granules and silica can help with arteriosclerosis. Sterol sources such as yucca or jiaogulan can relax blood vessels lowering blood pressure. For diabetics there are many things that can help with treating their condition. Gymnema by itself is not the answer. This is a Sugar blocker and helps to regenerate islet cells. With type 2 diabetic though they also need to focus on opening the insulin receptors, which chromium polynicotinate works the best for this. There are also other herbs that will help lower blood Sugar and blood pressure such as fenugreek seed.
