hypothyroidism is very common today and does not necessarily lead to weight gain. the best way to test the status of your thyroid is by testing your basal metabolic rate, which you can do by taking your underarm temperature first thing in the morning before you begin to move. use the most accurate thermometer you have, preferrable not a digital one.
another way to estimate the bmr is to estimate the amount of calories you eat in a day. the lower the number, usually the lower your bmr and the more suppressed the thyroid function.
if you would not consider an animal source for thyroid supplementation, coconut oil boosts the metabolism, although it will take a little longer for you to see results.
you have awareness for your health, as is indicated by your raw food diet. keep listening to your body, it will tell you exactly what it needs.
