Re: Diet doesn't do anything!
I think there is a difference between Dieting and Alkalizing. When we talk of alkalizing, we need to indulge as much alkaline food in our daily diet as possible. Green veggies, butter milk, rock salt, honey, brown rice, fruits etc to name a few. This diet should be devoid of essentially: all processed food, spicy food, common salt, sugar, tea, coffee, red meat, dairy products, bread (both white and brown) and many other things. I don't think you would loose anything by going on an all alkaline diet. Infact it would bring your imbalances to normal and what do you get by eating those processed crap anyways?? A frequent heartburn may be?? Or an occational irritable bowel syndrome??? Hah..
And who told you that vegetables don't have nutrients in them? Why bother about loosing weight unless you are an under fed and malnutritioned ;) ???? Oh btw...I turned vegeterian a year and a half back and I weigh about 176
lbs. I'm just 5 10"
I'd also like to mention that I did try this for four months but now I realize I made few mistakes: a) I used to drink tea or a coffee twice a day. b) I never really took many alkaline food such as vegetable juices, "FIGS" (probably the most alkalizing food item on earth), Amla, lemon etc. c) the medicine that I took for acidity never really clicked. As a result, I always had some kind of burning sensation in my throat and stomach area. My body never got alkalized. But now I want to see if the few adjustments in my diet helps me in any way...
ciao.
