I had read that you should lie on your left side, then your back, then your right side (for 20-min. coffee enemas) - but two people posted here that they did it with a stethescope and their stomach made lots of noises when on their left side but not the other 2 positions. At least for the coffee enema, you want the coffee to stay in the sigmoid colon (the first part of the colon), where there is a hemmoroidal vein that takes the enzymes right to the liver. There's a closed circulatory system from the colon to the liver and then back to the colon.
