Run a search for rotation or elimination diet...that should give you some specifics about how to determine what foods you may be allergic or sensitive to. It can be tricky because of the food families involved. Generally an allergic reaction will happen quite rapidly...within a couple of hours. But a sensitivity can be a delayed reaction...even a couple of days later.
You can take up to 3grams of tumeric 3 times a day...but you might want to look for an herbal formula that contains additional herbs specific for inflammation.
I prefer ground flax seeds to the oil...you get the additional fiber benefits.
