thanks for your comprehensive answer chiron: rooth thanks to you as well, and likewise thanks to all those who responded to this with info.

I really want to fast, but it's winter, and i will be on my feet 8 hours a day, so i think it'll do more harm than good.

Think I'll stick to one day fasts when i'm not working until i get a more extended time allowance. Maybe try the raw vegan thing for a little while.
