Re: "Walk a mile in another man's shoes."

Well, you have come a long way from locust torture!! I have always had from time to time these awful dreams where I had birds in cages and I suddenly remember in horror that I have forgotten about them for days. There are many variations and it isn't always birds but it is an awful feeling. I went to the opposite extreme. I liked animals better and I would cry much more if an animal died than if a human did.

I guess I still am sometimes that way. Once I had a child, that changed a lot. If I heard of a child that was near the age mine was that was killed in some sad way, I would cry and cry.

Gosh, In Texas, if you had fire ants, you better light their nest on fire or something, they are mean!

If it makes you feel any better I don't think locusts have a sophisticated enough nervous system to feel pain nearly as much as we do if at all. Maybe someone else can explain that. Though some peope would say that a tomato feels pain (I read that) so what are you to do?
