I make trail mix a lot. I love chocolate, so I buy the baking squares. I melt them in the microwave (a couple of 30 second intervals depending on how much). I don't want much refined Sugar in it so I add stevia,xylitol or whatever sweeteners I am using. Then I spread it out on a piece of parchment paper. By the time I put whatever else I want in the mix (raisins, dried crispy apples, healthy lightly sweetened cheerio type cereal, FF Snyders Nibblers and walnuts) the chocolate is hard and I take it out and break it up in the mix. Its good to have around for something quick and tasty whhen you need an energy boost. I don't know how it fits ito type O way of eating. Once I confirm that O is my type and get the results of what I'm allergic to, I am sure I will need to modify the ingredients.
