I've been on the O diet for almost two months, with great results. I'd been pretty much vegetarian/vegan for some time before this. Even though I've always loved wheat products and peanut butter, it wasn't that difficult to find other options. For instance, I now concentrate on brown rice, quinoa, millet, etc. and almond butter. It feels sort of strange eating red meats again (bison and lamb for stews), but I do seem to have more energy. Before I devour the meat, I make sure to "honor" it -- as did the Native Americans. (I haven't had dairy products in many years, anyway. Yuck.)
And then Dr. D's latest Genotype Diet book is on the market -- just to confuse me. :-) According to his new list, some foods that were prevously beneficial to O/hunter types no longer are. And several "avoids" (like cinnamon) are now considered beneficial -- provided you fit not only the O criteria, but also certain finger measurements and whatnot.
For some stubborn reason, I don't feel like measuring my extremities and whatever else we're expected to do. I plan to take the "good things" from Dr. D's latest list, and just add them to the one from the original ER4RT book. But that's just me. :-) I'll just "go with my gut instinct."
