Re: the moment

The Past.

Being creatures of habit, humans' habits developed in the past are what dictate their future behavior.

For the disciplined mind, these habits are easier to change, than for the undisciplined.

Thus, the undisciplined lacks control over the future, based on habits developed in the past which in most likelihood, are not going to be changed - they're locked in.

The disciplined, on the other hand, have more control over the future because they're more capable of altering their habits which were formed as a result of behavior reinforced from repetitions in the past.

The undisciplined are essentially locked in the past - trapped, a prisoner of their own habits - many of which "their habits" were developed under peer pressure, and are actually the habits of others, 20 years or more ago.

In essence, their futures of the undisciplined are controlled by behaviour of "peers" or parents, be it constructive or abusive, from when they were in their teens and possibly earlier.

Habit is the lock - discipline is the key.

That's why, the best thing parents can do for their little ones, is to teach them discipline.

If one was never taught how to discipline one's self, then they're kinda screwed, no ?
