Re: Preparing for 72 H fast
Lauray,
I hope this post will be interpreted as constructive and helpful for you and where for the most part I have kept myself in the background in considering your situation and the replies you have received: which I feel have been for the most part, caring and supportive.
I think it is vitally important here to understand that fasting does NOT heal anything: only the body heals itself, and where the fast can be a means to that end; fasting should not be looked upon as a way of life and something to be practiced indefinitely ad infinitum in achieving your health-goals: as with anything beneficial to the body, it can also be a two-edged sword with a huge and detrimental downside to health if practiced in this way.
It is also believed by Natural Hygiene (borne out of experience) that a healthy mind is the product of a healthy body, and where this in turn is considered to be a self-healing, self-maintaining, and self-repairing organism: given the ideal conditions and circumstances in achieving this.
True healing is only accomplished at the cellular level and where fasting will profoundly and most beneficially modify our tissues, but this does not take into account "optimal health" brought about by "optimum nutrition" thru a healing modality known as Orthomolecular Nutrition; this feeds the body at the cellular level and where I for one can strongly vouch for its efficacy in being instrumental in the recovery and maintenance of my own physical and mental well-being and health.
In my opinion (and that of thousands upon thousands of others) there are many lifestyle changes advocated by Natural Hygiene that will enable you to achieve your health goals without the need for fasting on a regular basis, and where I would hope that along with any professional advice you may be receiving in dealing with your relationship to food, will vastly hasten your goals in achieving the high state of health that you desire, deserve and really need.
Warm Regards
