Belly Button painting?

Glax - when you let the iodine soak in your belly button long ago and the skin started regenerating the next few days - did it seep and get gooey?

Mine is. I did it 2 days ago and it started seeping and it's painful. What did you do for it? I'm not sure if I should keep swabbing it out gently with a q-tip and warm water or leave it alone. It's super weird.
