The tone this forum has taken in regard to ED's is only as a safeguard for the preservation & improvement of the health and longevity of anyone who wishes to undertake a water fast: and that is all.

Many people who suffer from an ED (although not all) are most likely in a state of malnourishment due to poor eating habits over an unspecified period of time, and therefore there is the risk of not being able to live from the internal food sources that are needed in abundance to sustain the body during this process.

Anyone with an ED has to examine their reasons for fasting, and whether they have a rational basis in doing so, as more harm than good may be the result.

God may play a part in some peoples motivations for fasting and for those who believe that is the case, but I think the forum mostly deals with a pragmatic approach, from people with tangible experiences that can be recorded and verified as beneficial to anyones physical & mental health.

I would be very careful in seeking Gods guidance for fasting as to whether this is actually the case or otherwise.
