I've had problems with chronic constipation for years. Right now I'm doing pretty well with some various products that would be a lot for most people, but not for me: From Unicity Corp (multi-level network marketing deal, you have to order them) - Li Fiber in A.M., Nature's tea (laxative tea) at night, 1 or 2 of their aloe vera capsules at night, and even that by itself wasn't working half the time, so I started taking Julia Chang's chinese bitters again, 1 teaspoon in the A.M., and that regime right now seems to be doing the trick. They are a bit loose, but at this point, better out than in. Going 2-3 times a day without a problem. Lots of water & fresh vegetable juice, avoid flour & nuts, gluten, anything that tends to "pack" in the colon. Regular exercise is important, try massaging the abdominal area, get the energy flowing in the pelvic region with deep breathing, yoga, stretching. I shouldn't be this dependent on products, and I hope to someday have everything working well on its own again, but in the meatime, if you're cleansing, you don't want that stuff putrifying in there, so keep trying various products. good luck.
