Dumbed down doesn't even begin to describe

I believe DQ in an earlier post said that newspapers are written at a 6th or 7th grade level (correct me if I'm wrong). Our local paper is written at a 4th grade level. 99 percent of the population doesn't research ANYTHING before they vote. If I mention a piece of bad legislation that either side has enacted, you can almost see the drool coming out of the sides of their mouths. Patrick Starr from Spongebob Squarepants comes to mind. It's so sad. It blows my mind that I have no more intellectual capacity than anybody else, a lot less so in fact, and people just don't care. They just don't care. They vote for whatever makes them feel good. Instant gratification. That's what it's all about, baby, and one-upmanship. Ha-ha, we won!
The state of education is defies description. It isn't about education. I'm all for education. All these kids are getting is "schooled" which is tantamount to brainwashing.
