An amazing concession speech - and some closing thoughts

Is it just me or does it strike anyone else that the McCain concession speech was far too smooth to not be previously memorized and rehearsed?

Ah well, suspicions aside - I congratulate the Democrats and especially the African Americans.  Your candidate ran a much superior and much cleaner race, the same as happened here in this forum.  Certainly, no matter how orchestrated the contest may have been, this is an historic night for our country.  Symbolically anyway it is a night for America to be proud in many ways.

In a way, I hate knowing what I do about the harsh realities of the dark forces in our world - because I wish my spirit and joy could soar like I know is happening for many of you and I could see this election as the end of an abysmal period of suppression and destruction of our values, freedoms and economy and the ruination of our image around the world.

Maybe somehow, some way Obama will rise above the special interests and find the courage to cast aside the chains that have bound our leaders the same way that chains once bound his ancestors.

If so, he will have my admiration and enthusiastic support.  If not, then I will continue to speak out about the need to break those chains from both our leaders and ourselves.
