Re: fishy smell with coconut oil??
I am going to venture a guess that your
oil has begun going rancid. I have read
a few times online where people put the
oil on their hair and said it had a fishy
smell. They speculated it was a chemical
reaction of some sort. In my own experience,
I have found some oils go rancid much
earlier than they should. Coconut oil has
a good shelf life in a perfect world. I
would also recommend not double dipping
ever. Using a clean spoon will keep any
contamination down. I have found the oils
which work for me but also have tried a
series of others and some I just would not
recommend because of the rancidity problem.
Try a different brand~this should help rule
out your skin reacting to the oil and making
this smell evident. I have not yet tried
Nature's Way myself...
