Good morning Paulette. I want to thank you for your encouragement last night during my first liver flush. I got 30 3mm stones and 1/3 cup of small stuff and I am continuing to get more. The sharp pain is gone in my right side and the fullness has abated. But I know more are coming as I can actually feel them coming through the tube. I find this so fascinating. As well i remember from my school days reading in a pharmacology journal that magnesium salts contribute to kidney failure. That was a long time ago that I read that and it pertained to salt forms that used to be used a sedative and a muscle relaxant, which is probably why the biliary tubes are relaxed to the point of allowing such big stones through them. At any rate, in Canada, all forms of magnesium salts used in this fashion have been officially removed from the pharmacological formularies as they contribute to nephratic syndromes. Very simply too much megnesium probably is not good for the kidneys. However, that does not mean that supplements cannot be taken, such as a calcium and magnesium supplement on a one to one ratio for women, which is better absorbed and utilized than magnesium sulfate. I am just commenting on this and I urge you or someone else to read up on it. Just a word of caution. My naturopath has suggested a herbal tincture to start breaking down calcified stones, but i cannot remember what it is. This is probably why he suggests this instead of Epsom Salts .
