A Few Pieces of Silver...

Today I went to my local coin shop to pick up a few pieces of silver. Notably junk silver that trades just above spot prices. These are not nusmismatic they are my 'just in case' stash and I like to buy at times when the metal charts look 'ripe'.

So I asked for the older Mexican one ounce silver coins from the 1800's and he didn't have any. I had to settle for the half ounce coins that were minted about 5o years ago.

I decided to add some gold to my stash even though the charts suggest that more downside and price destruction is left. I don't mind scaling into a position. Well my dealer had narry a single one ounce gold coin. Not one! I said that gold prices were pretty awful right now so how come there weren't lots of coins out there?

Pretty much he said the price is rigged and manipulated. The answer I expected. So I settled for a few of the quarter ouncers from Uruguay...
