Re: glad you like

I hate to knock the place where I grew up and lived most of my life, but Long Island is friggin' suburban hell. It has a lot of scenic beauty if you look for it but to me it is basically one giant strip mall. Even the people (not all of course) seem to be more uptight and concerned with only superficial things. I need to live in a place with a vibrant music scene. I like to see live music at least once a week and the music scene on LI is pathetic. So I have to venture an hour into NYC. My only problem when I go to NYC is that I don't want to leave!! It's actually depressing having to head back out to LI. For the past number of summers I have worked out in "the Hamptons"......the most offensive, shallow, self-centered people I have ever encountered in my life. It's always refreshing to me to take a road trip and get away from the NY mentality. Tweet
