Mirena Removal in 19 year old with no children.

Hey,

I am 19 years old, I had the Mirena put in when I was 17 to try and control my severe anaemia due to heavy menstral cycles. My anaemia has now stabalized and I have been trying to research removal as I am sick of getting UTI's etc. Imagine my shock when I found the forums on here with women all over saying how they had developed depression, weight gain, bloating etc. I have suffered all of these, the Depression nearly costing me my life but never thought the Mirena could be responsibe. That said, I want it out!

I had the mirena put in through surgery, as they preformed a laparoscopy at the same time to check me for endometriosis - which thankfully I didn't have - now my biggest worry is - do I have to have surgery to remove it as I am only 19 and have never had a child? I cannot afford to have the surgery again as the first time I was under 18 and therefore under my parents medical insurance policy. But now that I am 19 I am no longer covered and cannot afford thousands in surgical fees.

If anyone knows if it is possible to have the Mirena removed without surgery in my case I would really appreciate an answer as I do not know how much longer I can cope with these side effects.
