Re: A little nervous
Aversion is a good word for it:) I had two painful enemas at the hands of hospital nurses and ever since then I've not even considered them. If I ever have anything like that again it will be at the hands of a professional.
I finally figured out what p&b was. I kept reading that in other folks posts and I thought what on earth.... peanut butter. Can't be that. But once you put it in the context of the ultimate fast It sunk in.
I'm not even sure I need something this drastic. I've used psyllium for a couple of years now and have eaten some type of green fresh veggie, uncooked for about 20 years daily. Except when I was fasting. Plus before I had to drop the starches I always ate whole wheat, lots of fiber bread goods. Even the spaghetti was whole wheat. Anyway I've had friends pass the black stuff when on psyllium but I never have. Only time I have ever been constipated was while I was pregnant and after those awful enemas.
I guess I have three main reasons to do this. First it was recommended by Hermit, John C. and you I believe, maybe others. Second I want my daughter who is always constipated to do it and I didn't think I could ask her to do something I hadn't done. And third I have this bit of a pouchy stomach which isn't going away despite all the weight loss. It's possible it's just poor muscle tone but I'm hoping that if it's a build up of plaque it will go down with this colon cleansing.
I started it today and it's a bit too sweet for me. The lemonaid that is. No blood
Sugar problems but If I had that it would probably be the middle of the night since you pretty much sip it all day. I was a bit cold though and I'm supposed to be taking supplements. Not sure if I should try and take those at the same time or not. Would I even digest them? I was thinking of adding a niacin capsule worth of powder to my whole drink. Do you think that would harm me? Should I post these questions in the colon area?
Take care,
Lisa
