I totally agree and have lectured on this so many times. High cholesterol DOES NOT cause heart disease. The cholesterol deposits due to inflammation of the arterial wall. This is because cholesterol is a healing agent.
Here are a couple of other facts that the drug companies do not tell you:
-Statin drugs increase your risk of heart failure. This is because they reduce CoQ10 levels, which is required to help cells function properly trough ATP formation. Lowered ATP levels lead to the condition rhabdomyolosis, which is degeneration of muscle tissue. Guess what? The heart is a muscle as well, and deteriorates due to low ATP levels just like skeletal muscle.
- Over 50% of people suffeing heart attacks have normal to low cholesterol levels.
-Severely low cholesterol levels greatly increase one's risk of heart attack, stroke, and dementia.
