Parasite Forum

I almost posted this to the parasite forum, and I didn't, because I decided it's not appropriate for the newbies.
I had a serious tape worm infection, and I very carefully investigated all the alternatives, including the meds. I have no bias between herbs vs. meds, but I am becoming very concerned about the direction the parasite forum has taken. A lot of people on the forum are taking Albendazole and Praziquantel which they are either buying from overseas internet sites, or from vetinary medicine sites.
Albendazole is designed to kill tape worm cysts, if you have pork tape worm, they also become lodged in the brain and muscles, and if you aren't also taking cortical steroids, you can die of a stroke. Even with steroids, which reduce the swelling from the decaying cyst, you can die of a stroke, and often pork tape worm disease is treated surgurically. (They go into the brain, and remove the cyst) Pork tape worm is a major public health problem, less common in the US, but it's a lethal condition.
Praziquatel, which is also being advocated frequently will cause blindness if the person has cysts in their eyeball, and the person is supposed to be examined by an opthamologist before they are given a prescriiption for the drug.
For me, this is not a question of natural ve man made, it's just plain very dangerous for people to be using the drugs they are using without understanding the risks, or even having identified they type of tape worm infection they suffer from. Given that parasitic infections are on the rise, and there is no little medical help out there for people, to have this kind of information given out to people without informing them of the risks of the treatments just plain scares me. Whatever your perspective, what is going on on that forum is just not cool. It really violates the 'Do No Harm' that underlies any type of good medical intervention.
If people want to use the drugs, I'm a libertarion, they can go for it with my blessing. I'm not going to tell anyone else what to do with their own bodies. But that forum gets all sorts of people who are scared to death and totally grossed out because they have just discovered they have worms, and the lack of information about the meds in the faq section is just scary. It's currently giving out information on how to get the drugs without having to pay for a doctor to prescribe them. When I was newly diagnosed, horrified and scared, I might have taken them, and I'm still not dead sure of the species of tape worm I had.

Either there should be NO discussion of how to use pharmaseucidals without prescriiptions, or there should be a separate forum for those who want to experiment with the meds. Which hopefully will be moderated with someone who can say things like if you have pork tape worm, this might just kill you.

I hate this stuff, it's really not about the personalities involved at all, it really could kill someone new to the curezone. I've seen a couple of posts from someone who had pork tape worm symptoms, who just disappeared, and I'm still wondering what happened to them. Dariushsweeden was one of the ones who disappeared for a while, and did live through his albendazole, but others might just be dead out there.
