Search and find many sources showing what was known 50 or more years ago, that fluoride is an enzyme poison, which reduces the effective concentration of thousands of the body's enzymes.

Enzymes are catalysts, and when you kill those catalysts, the body must respond to increase the rates of essential reactions necessary for the organism to survive, else it dies.

Since reaction rates are pH dependent, in the presence of cumulative fluorides, the body's main response is to lower pH, to accelerate reaction rates, because at lower pH levels reaction rates increase.

This is why bodies having lots of fluoride in them "become acidic". It's not because of a lack of "alkaline minerals", as some foolishly believe. It's because of an over-abundance of fluoride, or other catalyst poisons from chronically eating evil western foods, and eating no amount of alkaline minerals will correct that, although some might believe the body is a swimming pool and you can just add caustic to adjust the pH. But that would be just treating a symptom. If you want the root cause, then get the fluoride out so the body will naturally adjust it's the pH in its various compartments to a more alkaline level.

Bodies becoming acidic from too much fluoride is a large reason why they develop cancers, due to pleomorphic changes in the blood induced by these lower pH levels in particular body compartments, complicated by the presence of deposits of excess metals, mostly iron but sometimes other metals like Cd, Cr6, etc, which catalyze carcinogenesis.

Folks drinking calcium hydroxide don't think deeply enough or lack knowledge of the effect of fluoride on enzymes and the body's pH lowering tendency in the presence of fluoride. That's how Nature works, she kills the dummies, sometimes slowly, othertimes quicker.
