I'm not so sure you can call this a Republican versus Democrat hijacking.  What would have happened if they had let Bush, Paulson and Bernanke rush through the ORIGINAL version of the bill?  No doubt that the puppets on both sides are having their strings pulled mightily to pass the bailout of the rich unto the rest of us.

The admission by the administration that the bill had been prepared months in advance in a worse case scenario tells me that they knew exactly what was coming and that this is yet another October surprise coming only days before congress adjourns, just like the bill that established the private Federal Reserve Bank was.

This is a bill that should be rejected - or else it should be revised so that no one who took the heavy risks escapes the consequences at the expense of the rest of the citizens.
