Re: Benefits of Wheatgrass Juice
Some good points!
Nutritionally, you can leave out good stuff by isolating active compounds. But I really am not addressing nutrition for a couple of reasons.
Commenting on chlorophyll and Cancer I will die my my words. I will go to my attorney to protect my position. I will staunchly defend my position to the ends of the earth. I will eamail anyone the scientific references that prove my position if they only ask.
Commenting on digestion as it pertains to our cancer epidemic and wheatgrass, I will not be so rock-like!
Reflux and Gerd are horrible issues that I am sure set us up for multitudes of heartache.
"Live Enzymes," a curious term to me. Enzymes chemically are active in a metabolic sense. Yet, Living enzymes I usually associate with biotics, live cultures, bacteria.
In this case these things are great for digestion.
Having daughter who is horribly lactose intolerant, having best friends who's esophogus is erroded I will say this confidently about digestive issues.
Bacteria are a suspicious cause!
Your intestines have dozens of different bacteria; that if just one bacteria colonize in digestive tract it can really hurt you for years and years. This would seem the most obvious link to gerd you can find.
Subsequent inflamation causes reflux and also now comes digestion imbalances.
Chronic inflamation is proven to lead to cancer. I do say, PROVEN!!! But of the inflamed tissue usually.
How "Live enzymes," battle disease-causing bacteria,...I admit,...I don't know much because the term itself is ambiguous and the specific enzymes in W.G. are not identified or named.
I do know this, the the alum in aloe vera, the quinones in aloe vera, the polysacharides in whole aloe plus plain old chlorophyll helps repair and resist stomach bacteria in a localized sense, repair damaged tissue, but also in sytemic way battles cancer.
Whole aloe is still half the cost of wheatgrass, but hey, if you are battling cancer, take as many oxygen donors, alkaline substances, live biotics, immune modulators as you can afford.
Only, if you are purchasing wheatgrass instead of the aloe plus chlorophyll combo, you just wont be able to afford as many therapies.
Finally, ...I take alternatives myself. I experiment from time to time by substituting different products trying to find the combination that saves me the most money and that still helps me with my medical issues. I would encourage people with non-life threatening illnesses to try this from time to time.
The really important issue is this. If you have cancer, how do you know which active ingredients are the true "anti-cancer" ingredients in your whole substance.
How much faith factors in to your decisions and beliefs.
I mean I know there are very few people who read this and will proclaim that we should eat the fungus that produces penicillen instead of taking the active ingredient itself should we suffer from dangerous strep infection. Ok! Where's the nutritional concern in this analogy?
Whole substances contain active ingredients so what are they, why do they work, how much is not enough and how much is too much. Whole substances work for some reason.
It's what's in them that makes them work.
How do you ever regulate maximum dosing of the active ingredients? You can't possibly regulate dosing of an active ingredient, you have to isolated it, titrate it up in a clincal setting and find it's maximum level of tolerance is!
So, I still urge people to seek out active ingredients, (for cancer,) whenever possible as dosing now becomes a non-issue. And dosing is such an important part of therapeutic response, but only if you understand the mechanism of action. If you miss this point, no use in talking. These alt. therapies help because most of them are oxygen donors, period. If you believe this, your treatment choices will reflect it.
The grave yard is full of people who tried to treat their cancer with diet alone.
The grave yard is thousands of times fuller with people who treated their cancer with modern medicine alone. So, let's be real serious about this.
Hypothesizing the GERD causes other cancers not related to digestive tract is a dangerous assumption that is not proven or supported by clinical data and lab. data.
GERD causes digestive cancers.
A cancer patient should not buy into any one hypothesis that cannot be tested or is not supported.
A cancer patient should consider any hypothesis as feasible but not at the expense of other plausible hypothesis. These hypothesis infuence treatment choices.
Lastly, active ingredients are the key to beating cancer. Holistic grade ingredients are hard for lay people to come by. I mean, look at all the alternatives being used today,...they all share a common property, a common element is exploited. This goes for almost every alternative you can think of whether is is chemical, vitamin, or food. That common element is oxygen.
JUST LOOK
DMSO, grasses, chlorophyll, aloe vera, essiac, alkaline therapy, juicing, oleander, olive leaf, quinones, mangosteen, garlic oil, tumeric, cayenne, spices, oxalates, citrate, alpha lipoic acid, apple cider vinegar, green tea...all have something in common! WOW! This is true. One specific thing can be found in every single substance. An active ingredient that exploits oxygen.
This tells us why these therapies work.
How do you ignore a finding as huge as this? A clearly defined link to cancer treatments that people are swearing by. A clearly defined link suggesting why and how something works!
So if you are focusing on enzymes, detox, whole substances at the expense of the truly obvious, I would beg you to keep searching, reading, experimenting to find and seek the ultimate truths to cancer.
But, there is an old saying, "If it ain't broke,...don't fix it!" There is something to be said here, for this I do concede.
Ultimately, treatment choices are your choices and no body can take them away from you!!
I will stick to my chlorophyll and aloe. I will get roughly the same ingredients you are getting plus ten times the chlorophyll for half of what you pay.
Good Luck in your journey and thank you for your feedback.
Remember this!
If a diseae hates oxygen, maybe we should try to give it more oxygen!
