My wife has liver cancer

My wife and I have a battle ahead of us. She was recently diagnosed with colon cancer which has spread to the liver. She just had surgery on the colon which they removed one foot of colon and that surgery so far looks good. The liver is another problem. We were first told the liver was minor but after the colon surgery they said the liver is worse then they thought and want to start chemo on her in 3 weeks and see what happens. I have read about pau d'arco and Essiac is suppose to help knock out the cancer. Does anyone have advise for us.
