Re: I need help finding an allergy mask

Hi Hoshi! I have a similar problem to yours when gardening; I'm very mold sensitive and my sinuses/throat swell up, especially if I'm raking/sweeping leaves (leaf mold). I wear a 3M particulate mask--not sure what it's made up of; I know it has activated carbon in it--I find it very affective in blocking out pollen, dust, mold, chemical fumes. I can wear it by itself for about an hour at a time, then my face starts to get itchy from the mask.

To solve the face itching problem, I wear the I Can Breathe honey comb mask with disposable activated carbon filter directly over my face; it doesn't itch. Then I put the 3M particulate mask OVER the I Can Breathe mask. The double protection works great for blocking out dust/mold/pollen/fumes. The I Can Breathe mask I use as advertised on the webpage above is made out of polyester, though--

so...you may want to try putting a 3M mask over the cotton I Can Breathe mask that you already have. There's also a cotton mask with a disposable carbon filter on the website, if yours doesn't have the filter part. The cotton would be directly over your face touching your skin, and the 3M mask would act as an outer shield for the pollen/mold/etc that's bothering you.

Hope this helps!
