I don't believe that we need an intermediary.  Just you and your source. It can be God alone or a combination of everything you come to believe in.

If we think of the tradional way of thinking in Christianity which says that there is no path to God except through  Jesus.  Then what about Muslims, Buddhists, etc... if you and I don't do it this way- we are wrong, or something worse.

God created everyone. You and I and them. He created diversity because He wants it this way.  With each person that comes along and is "different" from you, you're not actually separate from them.  It's an illusion that we are separate.
