My sister, an RN in Georgia (USA), says that there has been an increasingly larger number of tapeworm cases. The number has been growing for a few years. Mostly all Hispanic migrant workers. I feel sorry for them. Not much they can do to avoid it, I guess.
I also worry about people who change their diets to raw foods. On the other hand, I remember my grandmother way overcooking vegetables. And how about the French? They love raw meat. They claim that there is much less problem with food borne illnesses, when the food is less handled and less processed.
