Re: Tapeworm Infections Rising
Hmmm.... that interesting info JFH about your sister. Obviously, the prevalence is here; therefore, I wonder why is there still a denial?
Since understanding parasites, I'm in agreement with you about raw food eating. Sad. Although, I can't help myself with eating handy blueberries, but a good cleaning solution can help (at least on the skin). Several months back, I cut into a red apple. It looked perfectly healthy, except there were pink thin structures that could easily be mistaken for veins and I would have thought this (years earlier) if I didn't know better and eaten the darn thing. When examining closer, the "veins" were curvy and not in line with the apple's fiber.
I don't think it is good to cook the vegs/fruits into mushy pulps. Studies have been done when the nutritional value has been removed -- it's best to cook them lightly. Some heat and a small amount of water should do the job of killing the suc***s.
As for the French eating raw meats, they do have a distinct Frenchy attitude that everyone complains about. Could it be parasite related?
