I am one of the people who try to leave the skin on the lips for a while before peeling, its usually a week long cycle. I've noticed that if I force the skin off my lips before the 5th day, my lips will bleed.

However when I used to peel everyday, my lips never bleed at all.

Also nowadays the skin is really tight for at least 5 days.

Maybe after consistently peeling everyday, the body assumes that the skin on the lips is dead? Therefore the body significantly reduces blood flow to the area?.

This could mean the reverse is also true. Leaving the skin on to heal for longer and longer periods of time causes the body to increase blood flow to the area as the skin is assumed to be living again?

Its difficult to put into words, but I think that may be the reason why the lips seem to bleed when we first got EC. Tweet
